The MacGuffin Project is a series of next generation escape rooms. If you're not familiar with the concept, an escape room is an experience normally enjoyed by teams. Participants attempt to solve a series of puzzles to escape the room in a certain amount of time.
The MacGuffin Project differs from most other escape rooms in that the production values are off the scale, with a fully realised set of characters, back stories and plot. It's a steampunk crystal maze.
I was the lead designer, and responsible for designing the puzzles, the script, the gameplay, the production design, sound & lighting. I even got my hands dirty and did set painting!
It was one of the most satisfying projects I've ever worked on, with an incredible team at MacGuffin Project, Seeper and Treehouse. The final result is an attraction that would sit well at a world class theme park.
